Desecration

Image desecration generally refers to the destructive handling of works of art , usually paintings .

The term is used specifically within the sex sciences . Here he describes the destruction and soiling of works of art as a special form of sexual fetishism , which is superimposed by sadism and relates to the objects loved by the sadist. For desecration, works of art, especially nudes , are painted over, cut up, splashed with acid and often smeared with feces . According to Ernst Bornemann, the perpetrator often poses as a moralist and guardian of morals who wants to save the world from the immorality of artists.
