Hans Jürgen Drumm

Hans Jürgen Drumm (born May 6, 1937 in Saarbrücken ; † April 22, 2018 in Regensburg ) was a German economist .

Life

After graduating from high school in Saarbrücken in 1956, he studied business administration at the University of Saarland , the University of Hamburg and the Free University of Berlin ( Diplom-Kaufmann 1964). He then worked as a research assistant with Erich Kosiol . Drumm started his career in 1968 at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation entitled Elements and Structural Determinants of the Information Communication System of Industrial Enterprises. A possibility analysis from the point of view of organizational theory for Dr. rer. pole. PhD.

Later he was a research assistant at the Institute for Econometrics and Business Research at Saarland University. In 1972 he completed his habilitation with a grant from the German Research Foundation . He then became scientific advisor and professor for life. In 1972/73 he was a deputy professor at the University of Frankfurt am Main .

In 1974 he became a full professor for business administration (human resources, organization and business planning) at the University of Regensburg . From 1975 to 1977 he was vice dean and from 1977 to 1979 dean of the economics department there. From 1982 to 1983 and from 2000 to 2001 he was managing director of the Institute for Business Administration. In 1994/95 he was a senator at the University of Regensburg. In 2005 he retired. He refused calls to Saarbrücken and Cologne.

He was a member of the Bavarian-Saxon-Thuringian study reform commission for business administration in the former GDR. In 1990 he was visiting professor for human resource management at the Bergakademie Freiberg , the TU Dresden and the Leipzig Graduate School of Management . Drumm is a member of the Schmalenbach Society for Business Administration , the German Society for Operations Research , the Association for Social Policy and the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration (including Chairman of the Human Resources Commission).
