Billung of Lindenfels

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Billung von Lindenfels (* before 1148, † after 1165) was a Frankish nobleman from the Lindenfels family . He is considered one of the main founders of the Bronnbach Monastery and was the main vassal of Count Palatine Konrad von Staufen . Due to his argument with his half-brother Friedrich I , the relations between Billung von Lindenfels and the emperor were probably impaired; This is indicated by the list at the very end of a series of witnesses in Friedrich I's letter of protection for the Bronnbach monastery from 1165, although Billung von Lindenfels was the main founder of the monastery. Since he died without descendants, his legacy went to the Reichsministeriale Erbach and Münzenberg .
