Billy Bay

William "Billy" Bay (born April 25, 1945 in Pacific , Missouri ) is an American jazz guitarist , author and publisher. He is President of Mel Bay Publications Inc , which was founded by his father in 1947.

biography

Bay began playing the trumpet at the age of seven and formed a big band in adolescence , in which David Sanborn also played. Bay studied guitar at college and, after completing his master's degree, joined his father's company, which at the time had only published 25 guitar textbooks. There he published over 2000 publications by well-known authors and guitarists, including instructional videos with Johnny Smith and Barney Kessel .
