Bind On Equip

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bind On Equip ( engl. "Binds when equipped" rarely Bound on Equip "Bind on Equip") referred to in Multiplayer - computer games special items (most items mentioned) and the underlying mechanism that is applied to this. By putting on such objects, i. H. When you put on clothing / armor or when you take a weapon or tool in your hand, they are bound to the player or his avatar and, unlike other items, can no longer be passed on to other players.

The purpose of this property is that good (i.e. very useful) objects after use can no longer be passed on to other players or sold if they are no longer needed. This prevents the virtual world from being flooded with such objects, because they would never disappear from the economic cycle.

“Bind On Equip” is mostly abbreviated to BOE or BoE in MMORPG jargon .

A stricter form of this mechanism is Bind On Pickup ( BOP ); In contrast to Bind On Equip, a player cannot give an acquired / found item to other players at all.
