Bingen (Norwegian for container or box ) is a striking mountain basin in the Borg massif of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . Its eastern flank is characterized by the steep cliffs of the Jøkulskarvet ridge .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named the mountain basin descriptively, mapped it using aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952).
