Biovalley
BioValley is a trinational was established in 1996 merger of biotechnology and biomedizinal operating universities and companies in the tri-border region on the Upper Rhine .
The founding initiative came from the Francophile German-Swiss entrepreneur Georg Endress , who was able to win over numerous leaders from regional industry and universities to found the association. The association comprises around 300 research and production companies in southwest Germany , northern Switzerland and Alsace .
The association consists of three regional associations (CH, D, F) - headed by a trinational board. The presidency rotates every two years between the chairmen of the regional associations.
