The Haid natural heat heating plant (often also called Haid biomass heating plant ) is a biomass heating plant in Ansfelden that was built and put into operation in 2009 . Since the end of November 2009, it has mainly been supplying cooperative households, companies and public buildings in the Haid district with central district heating . The total building costs amounted to 5.07 million euros; the official completion took place on June 30, 2010.

Technical Equipment

The Haid biomass heating plant consists of two biomass boilers with a total output of six megawatts. An additional gas boiler with a further four megawatts of power is used to cover peak loads and to protect against failures . The exhaust gas is cleaned by an electrostatic precipitator . The necessary energy requirement can be transferred to the network or held back flexibly via a buffer storage tank (capacity 150 m³) with 10 temperature zones, which guarantees a steady boiler operation. The heat produced in the heating plant is distributed with a flow temperature of around 90 degrees Celsius via a pipeline network of around 3.5 kilometers in hot water mode. The entire system runs in automatic mode and is remotely monitored by the Linz-Mitte district heating plant.

Performance values ​​and environmental balance

When completed, the heating plant can supply 2,000 households. The 8,500 tons of biomass required for this per year are chopped in the Linz Mitte district heating power plant and delivered to Ansfelden. The heating material required comes from Linz or from the vicinity of Linz. The use of biomass in the municipality of Ansfelden should save 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year in the final development of the environment, since biomass burns CO 2 -neutral.
