BioWall

A BioWall is a mosaic of many thousands of identical electronic components. Each component can display different patterns. Touching the finger changes the status of the element concerned. Since the BioWall program is stored in each individual cell, parts of this wall can be damaged without changing the global pattern. The wall was developed as a pilot application of the new technology by researchers from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne .

Possible applications are, for example, electronic circuits in safety-relevant areas that can repair themselves.
