Birgir Ármannsson

Birgir Ármannsson (born June 12, 1968 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Independence Party ).

The lawyer Birgir Ármannsson has been a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the constituency of Reykjavík-South since 2003 . In 2003–2007 and 2016–2017 he was one of the Vice Speakers of Parliament. Since 2017 he has been the leader of the independence party in the Althing. Before his election to parliament, he worked as a journalist at Morgunblaðið and in various positions at the Icelandic Chamber of Commerce.
