Birgit Brüster

Birgit Brüster (born January 17, 1965 in Neuss am Rhein) is a German writer and literature lecturer.

life and work

After graduating from high school in 1984, Birgit Brüster studied theater studies , modern German literature and political science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and received her doctorate in 1993 with the topic: The finale of agony: functions of the “metadrama” in German-language drama of the 80s . Her dissertation was published by Peter Lang Verlag in the series Europäische Hochschulschriften. After completing her doctorate , she traveled through India and South America for a year .

She worked as a journalist for Bavarian TV and the Süddeutsche Zeitung and as an advertising copywriter for international companies and publishers. Since 2005 she has been a full-time writer and lecturer for literature and creative writing at the Munich Adult Education Center . In 2010 she received a teaching position at the Schwaben Academy in the Irsee Monastery as a lecturer in creative writing. She initially published under the pseudonym Felizitas von Frey, and since 2010 under her own name.
