Birgit Richter

Birgit Richter (* 1971 in Dortmund ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebraic topology . She is a professor of mathematics at the University of Hamburg .

Richter studied 1991-1997 mathematics at the University of Bonn , where he was in 2000 with a dissertation entitled "Taylorapproximationen and cubic structures of gamma-modules" doctorate . From 2000 to 2005 she was a research assistant at the University of Bonn and was appointed to a professorship at the University of Hamburg in 2005. Along with Vicente Cortés is she font manager ( managing editor ) of the journal papers from the Mathematics Department of the University of Hamburg ; she is also on the editorial board of Annals of K-Theory and Algebraic & Geometric Topology . Since October 2019 she has been the head of the Mathematics Department at the University of Hamburg.
