Birgit von Derschau (born October 3, 1953 in Crimmitschau / Saxony ) is a German television presenter , journalist and author .

biography

Birgit Baronin von Derschau was born as Birgit Hübschmann on October 3rd, 1953 in Crimmitschau / Saxony. She grew up in the Schmöllner district of Zschernitzsch . She attended the polytechnic and advanced secondary school in Schmölln and graduated from the latter with the Abitur. Already during her school days she worked for the local newspaper Schmölln of the Leipziger Volkszeitung .

In 1977 von Derschau began working as an editor for German television broadcasting . She studied journalism in Leipzig.

Birgit von Derschau is married to a lawyer. She took his name Haupt, under which she was publicly active for years. The change to the name of Derschau took place later. She lives in Berlin and has two grown children. Birgit von Derschau supports the work of the Weißen Ring eV on a voluntary basis

At the DFF, Birgit von Derschau designed and moderated reports on spectacular criminal cases. In 1990 she founded the program Kripo live in DFF 2 together with the director Guntram Groß, which she moderated (at that time still as Birgit Haupt). The show has been broadcast weekly since 1992, since 1992 under the umbrella of mdr. After more than 1000 broadcasts, von Derschau gave up the moderation on September 29, 2013.
