Birkenreismühle is a former water mill on the Buckau in the state of Brandenburg. The former mill is listed as a monument . The birch rice mill belongs as a living space for the district Buckau the community Buckautal .

history

Several water mills have existed along the Buckau River since the Middle Ages. One of them was the birch rice mill. In modern times , in 1782, the mill consisted of a grinder . In 1820, the birch rice mill was described as having one grinding gear and one cutting gear, i.e. a combined grain and saw mill . Between 1968 and 1990 the mill ran on electricity . The sawmill is preserved.

In 2001 the old mill and its outbuildings were bought privately and renovated. A sanctuary was established on the farm . On June 18, 2015, there was a major fire in the ensemble of the birch rice mill, in the course of which the house was badly damaged. It was possible to prevent the flames from spreading to the old mill.
