The Birmingham Bulls are an American football team based in the city of Birmingham, England .

history

The Bulls were founded in 1983, making them one of the oldest teams in Great Britain. They have been taking part in league games since 1984.

The Bulls celebrated their first major success in 1986 when they became British champions for the first time. In the same year they took third place in the European Football League, which was held for the first time . On the way to the small final, which they won 21-0 against the Amsterdam Rams, the Bulls knocked out German representative Ansbach Grizzlies 29:18 in the quarter-finals .

Further championship titles followed in 1988, 1991 and 1995, and the Bulls were also runner-up five times. In three other Eurobowl participations, the Bulls failed each in the quarterfinals.

From 1984 to 2007, the Bulls always had a positive win-loss record in league games. However, this series broke in the 2008 season, in which the team managed only one win with seven defeats.

The Bulls' youth teams have also had some successes. The junior flag team won the BYAFA Junior Flag Final in 2000 and 2001 and the junior tackle football team won the BYAFA Kitted Bowl VII in 1994 .
