In heraldry, the bishop appears as a common figure in many coats of arms , especially in urban heraldry. He is represented as a human figure standing or sitting. Also, only the bust is chosen. Attached to the can crest figure the insignia as the crosier , the miter , the Cross be the bishop's ring or additionally, the Bible. The color of the robe is often tinged with red or gold. The depiction of the crook or the miter with two hanging infuln is equal to the human figure and is often chosen as a more advantageous form in the coat of arms.

The miter can also be placed on a crown wreath as a crown miter. The Galero is mainly used as a symbol of rank and dignity above the coat of arms. This is a green, flat, broad-brimmed hat with six tassels hanging down on either side. The ecclesiastical heraldry know specifics for all church dignitaries.
