The Bisiluro Silver Fox (German: Double Torpedo Silberfuchs ) is a sports car prototype, which was presented to the public in 1967 at the Turin Motor Show. The car was designed by Officine Stampaggi Industriali SpA (OSI) and was never tested because the manufacturer went bankrupt.
Development history
The OSI Bisiluro Silver Fox goes back to an idea of the racing driver Piero Taruffi. Taruffi previously experimented with various double-hull concepts (Nardi, Pegaso). At the beginning of 1966, Taruffi suggested that Officine Stampaggi Industriali SpA build a double-hull racing car. It is planned to start at the Le Mans race. Sergio Sartorelli then made a few sketches. The first models were tested in the wind tunnel of the Turin Polytechnic as early as mid-1966. The prototype then follows.
technology
By Alpine tuned four-cylinder - Renault engine with 1.0 liter displacement is mounted on the left side behind the seats. The unusual design of the vehicle is reminiscent of the boat type of a catamaran . The rear and the front with a flow-favored frontal area of 1.4 m² are each divided into two points. The two hulls are connected by the driver's cab and three tail units in the form of wings. The first of these spoilers can be adjusted as required while standing to determine the strength of the downforce. The middle one can be adjusted while driving, the rear one is fixed.
Other fairs and current owner
The car was also shown at the Retromobile Show in Paris in 1997 and at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 and is now privately owned by French racing driver Paul-Emile Bessade.
