description

The Bismarck Column Waldshagen is a round tower with a diameter of around 6 m and originally 26 m high, which was built on the outside from prefabricated, carefully hewn elements made of natural stone (gray granite ) and inside from bricks . The entrance to the Bismarck Column is accessed via a staircase and adorned by a high portal. For decoration, the tower has a cornice in the middle from which parts of the natural stone have broken out. In addition, the outside is loosened up by a few small windows and not smoothly hewn, slightly protruding stones. At the top there is a relief with the inscription "UNSERM - BISMARCK - DEM - GROSSEN - DEUTSCHEN". Above it, the column tapers like a dome, an earlier structure, which carried a fire bowl, is missing.

Others

The Waldshagen Bismarck Column is located on private property and cannot be entered or climbed. The entrance is partially walled up and closed by a metal door.
