Diocese of Dunwich
The Diocese of Dunwich ( Latin : Dioecesis Dunvicensis ) was a Roman Catholic diocese located in what is now the United Kingdom , with its seat in Dunwich .
history
The Diocese of Dunwich was established in 630. It covered parts of East Anglia . In 673 the area was divided into the Diocese of Dunwich and the Diocese of Elmham . 870 the Diocese of Dunwich was reunited with the Diocese of Elmham as the Diocese of Dunwich and Elmham, with its seat in Elmham.
The seat of the Diocese of Elmham-Dunwich was moved to Thetford in 1075 and the title changed to Bishop of Thetford .
The Diocese of Dunwich was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Canterbury as a suffragan .
