Diocese of Trogir

The Diocese of Trogir was a Roman Catholic diocese based in Trogir (ital. Traù ) on the Croatian Adriatic coast. It was founded in the Middle Ages and abolished in 1828. Most of the diocesan area came to the diocese of Šibenik , the smaller southeast to the archdiocese of Split-Makarska . The cathedral was St. Lawrence in Trogir.

The most important bishop is St. John (Ivan) of Trogir († 1111).

Since 1969 the title Trogir has been conferred as a titular bishopric , see Tragurium .
