Diocese of Zante

The diocese of Zante ( Latin : Dioecesis Zacynthiensis ) located in Greece was established in 1212 and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Corfu . It was incorporated into the Archdiocese of Corfu on June 3, 1919, together with the diocese of Kefalonia , whose archbishop now also bears the titles of the incorporated former suffragans .

Zante is the Italian name of the island of Zakynthos, which has belonged to Greece since 1863 .
