biography

The English DJs Dean Meredith and Mark Archer founded Bizarre Inc as a duo in 1989. First publications appeared in the same year on the Blue Chip label . After Archer left the project to work with Chris Peat the techno band Nexus 21 to set up, Meredith began working with producer Andy Meecham, who was a colleague Archers in the Blue Chip studios. Moreover met Carl Turner, a DJ from the Coliseum Stafforder club where Meecham Lightjockey was to Bizarre Inc. Although it is a mainstream was -Club, put there Turner House imports from America, which is why we brought him to the project.

The sound of Bizarre Incs was based on the North American deep house . Thanks to some demo tapes that were sent to various record labels, the group got a contract with J. Saul Kane at Vinyl Solution. As a result, the single Playing with Knives first placed in March 1991 at number 43 on the UK charts . After the song Such a Feeling even climbed to number 13 in September, Playing with Knives rose again to the English charts at the end of November and reached number 4.

In 1992, the band was strengthened by the singer Angie Brown , who could already be heard on some tracks on the album Energique, which was released a short time later . The long player was in the English album charts for two weeks with a top rating at number 41. The pre-release single I'm Gonna Get You became the biggest hit Bizarre Incs, which entered the UK charts in October 1992 and climbed to number 3. In January 1993 the song was also placed on the American Billboard Hot 100 , although it did not go beyond number 47, but stayed in this hit list for 23 weeks. With the release Took My Love , the band had their last chart success for the time being in February 1993 before they disappeared from the English club scene for a few years.

After a break of several years, the album Surprise , on which Angie Brown could be heard again , was released in 1996 on Mercury Records . The singles Keep the Music Strong (33rd place), Surprise (21st place) and Get Up Sunshine Street (45th place) made it onto the English charts, but the album did not meet the high expectations. As a result, Bizarre Inc. broke up.
