Björn Christian Ewald

Björn Christian Ewald (born August 22, 1965 ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Ewald studied at the University of Munich , where he received his master's degree in 1993 and his doctorate in 1996 with Paul Zanker . In 1997/98 he received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute . He was then an Assistant Professor at Yale University before becoming an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto .

Ewald's main research area is the Roman sarcophagi and their iconography .
