Bjarnarfjörður nyrðri ( isl. North Bears fjord ) is a fjord in the Westfjords of Iceland .
It lies between the bays Skjaldabjarnarvík (lies northwest) and Drangavík (lies east). The fjord is about 1 km wide and protrudes 4.5 km into the country. Bjarnarfjörður has long been deserted. There used to be two small courtyards here. The remains of a peat farm were excavated in 1955. It is said that the outlaw Fjalla-Eyvindur (in the 18th century) found shelter here. A farm called Fornasel was in Fornaselsvík Bay. There are many seals in the fjord. The Bjarnarfjarðará, which flows through the valley behind the fjord and flows into it, is fed from the meltwater of the Drangajökull . Another Bjarnarfjörður is about 55 km south near Hólmavík .
