Bjarne Vanacker (born May 30, 1997 in Torhout ; † November 6, 2017 there ) was a Belgian cyclist .

life and career

As a junior, Vanacker was sixth in Menen-Kemmel-Menen in 2015 and third in the junior edition of the Tour of Flanders ( Keizer der Juniores ). In May 2017 Vanacker finished tenth at the Belgian U23 time trial championships in Anzegem , 1:24 minutes behind the winner, Senne Leysen . Five months later he was fifteenth in the Piccolo Giro di Lombardia . He also finished second behind Mathias Van Gompel at Reningelst Internatie .

He was found dead in bed that morning on November 6, 2017.
