The magazine Blätter für Münzfreunde , organ of the Numismatic Association Dresden, existed from 1864 to 1963. The subtitle was changed several times: 1899 = General German magazine for coin and medal science, 1902 = magazine for coin and medal science and 1908 = monthly journal for coin technology and medals. The editors were the most renowned numismatists and coin dealers of their time such as Hermann Grote , the brothers Albert and Julius Erbstein , Heinrich Buchenau and Richard Gaettens . The pages for Münzfreunde were grouped into 22 volumes of three or four years each, after a new series from 1919 in nine volumes. After thisDuring the Second World War , the magazine was published from 1954 to 1959 under the title Blätter für Münzfreunde und Münzforschung .
