action

Misao often sees ayakashis, monsters that no normal human can see. But on their 16th birthday they get out of hand and start attacking them. Her first love suddenly reappears, the now 20-year-old Kyō. Misao can barely remember him after he had to move six years ago. She learns that he is a Tengu and she herself the Senka. Senkas only exist once in a hundred years, their blood promises a longer life and their flesh even promises immortality. Taking her as a wife brings splendor and prosperity to his clan.

Therefore Kyō wants to marry her absolutely. But Misao doesn't know whether he's doing this out of love for her or just for his clan. It later turns out that he really loves her too. But their love is tested again and again because other clan leaders want the Senka for themselves.

Misao and Kyō also don't know what will happen after their wedding. Tadanobu, Kyō’s best friend and head of the Yōkos, advises them not to unite, as they could no longer be together. More details can only be found in Senkaroku, a book in which the life of the two after the marriage was written down. But this was stolen by other clans and is now nowhere to be found. At the same time, Misao's father brings home a young man whose parents were killed by an ayakashi. He firmly intends to kill Kyō and win Misao over. Since he has cursed Kyō and Kyō can only survive if he reunites with Misao, Misao gets into a dilemma. But she unites with him because she wants to save her loved one. After a while Misao and Kyō return to the village and have to find out that Kyō's older brother Shō is in the village. After Misao had an argument with Shō-dono, Kyō challenged his brother to a final battle, which ended with Kyō winning and Shō dying. That night Misao and Kyō reunited very often, as Misao is supposed to heal Kyō's pain over the loss of his brother. After the two returned, Misao suddenly gained new strength. However, it is not yours, but that of your child that grows in you. Both are of course happy that there will be three of them soon, but Misao is afraid to tell her parents that the child and Kyō are Ayakashis. She and Kyō decide first to only say that Misao is pregnant. When Kyō and his followers are attacked by an enemy clan, they defeat them, but it turns out that the moment Misao gives birth to her child, she will die.
