The Black Head is a rugged promontory of dark rock on the north coast of South Georgia , which the Cook Bay in the northwest of the Possession Bay separates the southeast.
British Discovery Investigations scientists who surveyed the area from 1929 to 1930 named them descriptively for their coloration.
