Black Tuesday ( english "Black Tuesday" ) refers to the 29. October 1929 , five days after the US stock market crisis on Black Thursday . With the onset of panic reaction to Black Friday , which signaled a collapse of the stock market, all investors tried to sell their shares at the same time. That day and the following week were the beginning of the so-called Great Depression in the United States and the world economic crisis .

In the Greek area in particular , "Black Tuesday" refers to May 29, 1453 - a Tuesday on which Constantinople , the capital of the Byzantine Empire , was conquered by the Ottoman troops , with which the Byzantine Empire fell after more than a thousand years of history and the centuries-long period of the Turkish Foreign rule broke out in Greece and the Balkans. Since then, Tuesday has been considered a bad day in Greece to this day.
