Blackcraig Castle

Black Craig Castle is a country house residential tower in Blairgowrie in the Scottish county of Perthshire (now administrative unit Perth and Kinross ).

history

A residential tower was built there in the 16th century . Patrick Allan Fraser had the country house built around the residential tower, which took almost 40 years, from 1856 to the end of the 1880s. Fraser had bought the land in 1847 from Robert Rattray's trustees .

After Fraser's death in 1890, the castle became part of the Hospitalfield Arts Trust . It was later sold and operated as a guest house for years.

Blackcraig Castle is three stories high and is made of quarry stone walled in with lime mortar.
