Blackrock Ridge (freely translated from English Black rocky ridge ) is a mountain of black rock in the center of the West Antarctic island of Seymour . With a west-southwest-east-northeast orientation, it rises 2.5 km north of Penguin Point .
The descriptive designation as Filo Negro is contained in map material that was created in the course of an Argentine research campaign in 1978. This designation was translated into English by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names and the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in a modified form in order to avoid confusion with the Black Ridge in the Deep Freeze Range of the East Antarctic Victoria Land.
