Bladon Castle

Bladon Castle is a folly that has been partially converted into a country house . It is located about 500 m southwest of the village of Newton Solney in the south of the English county of Derbyshire , about 1.5 km northeast of Burton-upon-Trent and near the point where the River Trent forms the border with Staffordshire . The building is on the Bladon House School property .

The castle was originally built as a Folly in neo-Gothic style by architect Jeffrey Wyattville for Abraham Hoskins of Burton-upon-Trent. Later it was partially converted into a country house.

The building is now partially derelict and English Heritage has it as Historic Building II *. Grade listed.
