Blanche Gauthier

Blanche Gauthier (* 1884 in Montreal ; † August 18, 1960 there ) was a Canadian actress and singer.

Gauthier made his debut in a role in La Pharmacie Laborieuse at Monument National in 1916, directed by Antoine Godeau . She then moved to the Théâtre Nouveautés where she worked alongside actors such as Thérèse D'Orgeval . Clara Dartigny , Hamant and Pierre Labry performed and later at Chanteclerc (Théâtre Stella). There she played great character roles and was successful as La Frochard in Les deux orphelines .

She also appeared in several operetta productions and joined the Troupe Barry - Duquesne . Here she played the mother Grégoire in Armand Leclair's La vierge des Bouges . In addition, she recorded skits with Ovila Légaré , Armand Lefebvre , Elzéar Hamel and Paul Desmarteaux for Columbia Records .

In the 1930s Gauthier also worked on radio play productions, including as a housewife in Le curé de village , in Fémina , Les amours de Ti-Jos , C'est la vie , La métairie Rancourt , Francine Louvain and Rue Principale . She also took on roles in several films, such as La forteresse , Un homme et son péché and Forbidden Journey . From 1959 until her death, she starred in one of Québec's first television series, En haut de la pente douce .
