Blank was an English Troy weight. It was a gold, silver, platinum, gemstone, coin and apothecary weight. The small measure calls into question the weighing ability. The dimensional chain was from the troy pound downː

For clarity from grain the dimensional chain:

  • 1 grain = 20 mites = 480 doits = 9600 periots = 230,400 blanks
  • 1 blank = 1 / 230,400 grain = 0.00028 milligrams
