The Lok Sabha constituency of Kolar is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and is congruent with the Kolar district .

The constituency is reserved for candidates from the lower castes ( Scheduled Castes ). In the last election for Lok Sabha, 1,492,975 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The Kolar constituency has existed since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. Until 1973, the constituency belonged to the state of Mysore , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973.
