The Lok Sabha constituency of Gulbarga is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and includes most of the Gulbarga district and a smaller part of the Yadgir district .

The constituency is reserved for candidates from the lower castes ( Scheduled Castes ). In the last election for Lok Sabha, 1,721,990 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency of Gulbarga has existed since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. Until 1956, the constituency belonged to the state of Hyderabad , then to the state of Mysore , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. Since the 2009 election, the constituency has been reserved for candidates from the lower box.
