The Lok Sabha constituency of Uttara Kannada (until 2004: Lok Sabha constituency of Kanara ) is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and includes the entire district of Uttara Kannada and a smaller area in the southwest of the district of Belgaum .

Constituency history
The constituency existed under the name Kanara since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. Until 1956 it belonged to the state of Bombay , then to the state of Mysore , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. For the Lok Sabha election in 2009, the constituency was renamed Uttara Kannada .
