The Lok Sabha constituency of Chitradurga (also Chitaldroog ) is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and includes the entire Chitradurga district and a smaller part of the Tumkur district .

The constituency is reserved for candidates from the lower castes ( Scheduled Castes ) . In the last election for Lok Sabha, 1,661,272 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency of Chitradurga has existed since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. The constituency was part of the state of Mysore until 1973 , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. Since 2009, the constituency has been reserved for candidates from the lower box.
