The Lok Sabha constituency of Bellary is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and covers most of the Bellary district .

The constituency is reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Tribes . In the last election for Lok Sabha, 1,487,945 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency of Bellary has existed since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. Until 1953, the constituency belonged to the state of Madras and then to the state of Mysore , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. Since the Lok Sabha election in 2009, the constituency has been reserved for candidates from the tribal population.
