Constituency history

A constituency of Bangalore South already existed in the first Lok Sabha election in 1951. In the run-up to the Lok Sabha election in 1957, the constituencies were reorganized. The new constituencies Bangalore and Bangalore City emerged from the former constituencies of Bangalore South and Bangalore North . For the 1977 Lok Sabha election, the constituency of Bangalore South was re-established. It was created by dividing the constituency of Bangalore into the constituencies of Bangalore South and Bangalore North. When the constituencies were reorganized in the run-up to the 2009 election, the Bangalore South constituency was redesigned. He gave part of his area to the newly established constituency of Bangalore Central and the constituency of Bangalore North. At the same time, the constituency of Bangalore South was added to part of the area of ​​the dissolved Kanakapura constituency .
