Constituency history

The constituency of Koppal has existed since the Lok Sabha election in 1957. The predecessor constituency in the first Lok Sabha election in 1951 was the constituency of Kustagi . The constituency belonged to the state of Mysore until 1973 , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973.
