Constituency history

The constituency of Bidar existed in the first Lok Sabha election in 1951 and again from the 1962 election. Until 1956, the constituency belonged to the state of Hyderabad , then to the state of Mysore , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. Until 2004, the constituency was reserved for candidates from the lower castes ( Scheduled Castes ).
