Maksym Valerijowytsch Kwittschenko ( Ukrainian Максим Валерійович Квітченко ; born March 13, 1990 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has played for Toros Neftekamsk in the Vysschaya Hockey League since October 2015 .

Career

Kwittschenko comes from the youth department of HK Sokil Kiev . In 2007 he moved to Chimik Woskressensk . There he was temporarily used in the second men's team, but played mostly in the junior team in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League , where he was nominated for the All-Star Game in his last year. After five years in Russia, he returned to Ukraine in 2012 and has since played for HK Donbass Donetsk in both the Continental Hockey League and the domestic Professional Hockey League , which he won with the Donbass second team in 2013. In the same year he also won the IIHF Continental Cup with his team . In 2014 he and his team finished second in the same competition behind the Stavanger Oilers . He then moved to the Russian Vysschaya Hockey League , where he first played for Yuzhny Ural Orsk , but still switched to league rivals HK Ryazan during the current season , with whom he reached sixth place in the main round. He also began the following season there, but then moved to Bashkortostan to Toros Neftekamsk , the reigning champion of the Vysschaya Hockey League, in October 2015 .

International

Kwittschenko represented his home country in the junior division at the Division I tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the U20 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 . In the senior sector, he played for the Ukrainian national ice hockey team for the first time in November 2012 and in February 2013 at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi . In April 2013 he was also on the ice at the 2013 World Cup and rose with the Ukrainian team from Group B to Group A of Division I at the tournament in Donetsk, where he represented Ukraine at the 2014 World Cup .
