The constituency of Udupi-Chikmagalur has existed since the Lok Sabha election in 2009. Previous constituencies were the constituencies of Udupi and Chikmagalur . When the constituencies were reorganized, the previous constituencies of Udupi and Chikmagalur gave up part of their territory to surrounding constituencies and were merged to form the new constituency of Udupi-Chikmagalur.
