Chief Minister
A chief minister ( German chief or main minister ) is a superordinate minister. Historically, he was the head of government of a state or province in a federal state , especially in areas of the former British Empire or in self-governing British overseas territories .
It is also the English-language name for the heads of government of those states of Malaysia that are not a monarchy. Since 2004 in the Isle of Man and Guernsey, since 2005 Jersey, the crown holdings also have a Chief Minister. Chief Ministers were also the heads of government of the former South African and South West African homelands .
Since 2018, Sierra Leone has again had a Chief Minister at national level, who performs tasks comparable to a Prime Minister .
