Stone times
SteinZeiten was a private mineral and fossil museum owned by Andreas Guhr in Hamburg .
Since it opened in September 2004, it had been in an old office building at Rödingsmarkt 19. It was then closed in September 2009. On an area of 450 m², artistically illuminated, extraordinary and large minerals and fossils were presented accompanied by sound installations.
The Hamburg-based Andreas Guhr, operator of a mineral, fossil and gemstone trade ( Mineralien Zentrum ) and a recognized expert in this field (including founder of the Hamburg Mineralientage trade fair ) has plans to expand the museum project elsewhere.
Sometimes in October 2009 he opened the RED GALLERY - Rare Earth Decor at the same location . Special minerals and fossils are also shown in this gallery. However, the focus is on the enrichment and inclusion of modern architecture and the design of interiors through the unique pieces. In addition, events and exhibition collaborations with contemporary artists take place. Some other exhibits can also be viewed at international exhibitions.
