Constituency history
The Hassan constituency has existed since the Lok Sabha election in 1957. The predecessor constituency in the first Lok Sabha election in 1951 was the Hassan Chikmagalur constituency . The constituency belonged to the state of Mysore until 1973 , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973.
