Blasius Tancke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blasius Tancke (* around 1520 in Lübeck ; † 1562 or later) was a German secretary at the Hansekontor in Bergen (Norway) .

Life

Blasius Tancke studied from 1539 at the University of Rostock and received his bachelor's and master's degree there in 1551 . After the confusion over the acceptance and rejection of the former secretary Jakob Raven in his second appointment after the dismissal of the secretary Marcus Radeloff , the office seems to have been without a secretary for six years. In August 1560, after the Reformation, Blasius Tancke from the Bergener Kontor sent silver implements that were no longer needed for worship and saints to the Lübeck mountain drivers . In October 1560, as one of the representatives of the Hanseatic Office, he took part in discussions with the captain of Bergenhus Fortress and Danish Councilor Erik Ottesen Rosenkrantz (1519–1575) about the property taxes to be paid on Bryggen . In 1560 he asked to leave Bergen. In 1561, the Lübeck senior citizens of the Bergenfahrer began looking for a suitable successor and made appropriate inquiries about suitable candidates through the Lübeck Council Secretary Nicolaus Wulff . Blasius Tancke left Bergen, as can be seen from a letter from the office to the Lübeck mountain drivers, in August 1561. His further life is not recorded; nor was his successor from 1561 to 1563 by name. It was not until 1565 that a new secretary appeared by name, Johann Hoppenacker .
