The Bleckeder Kleinbahn GmbH opened its 24 km long and Geestrand train called route from Lüneburg to Bleckede on February 15 1919th

However, a narrow-gauge stretch of the Bleckeder circular path with a partially different route had already existed here. From 1923, the Lower Saxony State Small Railway Authority was in charge of operations. In 1931 the Bleckede district was dissolved and added to the Lüneburg district, which also became a partner in the Kleinbahn. This was expressed in a change of name, the company was now called Kleinbahn Lüneburg – Bleckede . From September 10, 1943, the line was called Lüneburg – Bleckeder Railway , and on July 10, 1944, it merged to form Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen (OHE).

In Bleckede, since 1943, a 6 km long railway from Hamburg's electricity works to the East Hanover power plant in Alt Garge, operated by Bleckeder Kleinbahn and its successor, OHE. Regular passenger traffic began on this section in 1954.

On July 1, 1922, a railway repair shop was opened in Bleckede, for which an operating company with the Kleinbahnen Lüneburg – Soltau , Celle – Soltau, Celle – Munster and Winsen – Evendorf – Hützel existed from December 22, 1927 under the name Bleckwerk railway workshop in operation. This plant carried out up to 30 general inspections annually with up to 100 employees. From January 1, 1941, it was again the sole property of the Kleinbahn Lüneburg – Bleckede until it passed into their ownership when the OHE was founded. It served all OHE railways and also other private railways.
