The approximately 110-meter-long Blocksquerstraße is located in the northwestern part of the old town island, in the Marien-Magdalenen quarter . It begins at the Beckergrube opposite the confluence of the Ellerbrook , runs southwards and ends at Mengstrasse .
history
The street 1344 is mentioned for the first time under the name Blokkesdwer ( Blocksquer ), named after the brothers Johann, Hasso and Hidde Block, who from 1312 to 1342 owned the corner house Mengstraße 40 at the beginning of the street with the associated booths no. 16 - located in the cross street . 28 belonged to. 1352 the designation Blockdwerstrate is recorded, 1363 Blockesdwerstrate . The current name was officially established in 1884.
